| Pair of Classic Plastic Pink Flamingos. Set includes one standing and one feeding bird made from sturdy salmon-pink plastic. Standing flamingo measures 35 inches tall overall, and about 30 inches tall when legs are staked in the ground. Feeding flamingo measures about 17 inches from tail to beak and both are about 4 inches wide. Each flamingo has metal legs, realistic black and yellow plastic eyes, painted beaks and lots of feather texture molded in. These are the original 'Yard Art' flamingos (phoenicopteris ruber plasticus) designed by Don Featherstone with his signature molded underneath. | Pink Flamingos, a true classic. These are the latest rendition of the original Union Products Flamingos designed by Don Featherstone. Faster Form has brought them out of extinction and I'm glad they did. They are great, from the separate applied eyes to Don's signature cast on the birds butt. If you like yard flamingos....and I do, these are a must have! |

| If you're going to have pink flamingos, you should get the originals! Much nicer than the imitations--more detailed and better paint job. Our first pair is finally starting to look faded after about 6 years in the sun so we ordered some new ones. They were unavailable for a while after the plant closed but apparently someone finally bought it and started making them again. Hurray! |
Best Pink Flamingos on the Market

| I could not more highly recommend the original pink flamingos by Don Featherstone. They are iconic pieces of Americana that are well made and in the US. Unlike other cheap knock-offs, the pink is a tasteful and fun color and the set in different shapes adds some variety. |
Return of the Classic Original Don Featherstone Plastic Pink Flamingo Lawn Ornament
|

A bolt of pink inspiration struck Don Featherstone one bleak day in 1957 in Leominster Massachusetts. The result was the creation of the world's first plastic pink flamingo lawn ornaments. Don Featherstone in one stroke of genius accomplished more than any other single person for both the plastics industry and popular culture. Imagine the drabness of a world without plastic pink flamingo lawn ornaments.
The original Don Featherstone pink flamingo lawn ornaments were manufactured continuously from 1957 through 2005 by Union Products in Leominster, Massachusetts. In 2005, Union Products went out of business. However, the copyright and molds for the original Don Featherstone pink flamingo were purchased by HMC International LLC in Westmoreland, New York, a division of Faster-Form Corporation. As of mid-2009, Faster Form has finally begun to remanufacture the original Don Featherstone plastic pink flamingo lawn ornament under the Faster Form label. The reissued items still bear the signature of Don Featherstone as well as the Union Products Leominster imprint, even though they are now being manufactured in New York.
Accept no substitutes. Go for the gusto. Purchase only the original Don Featherstone plastic pink flamingo lawn ornament.
All plastic lawn ornaments deteriorate with sunlight, resulting in faded color and brittle plastic after five to ten years outdoors. As with the original, the connection to the legs is delicate.
For the creation of the plastic pink flamingo, Don Featherstone has won the coveted Ig Nobel Prize.

Love the Don Featherstone Flamingos

My mom loves these flamingos; this is her 3rd pair. The first ones simply wore out over time; the 2nd pair were destroyed by the yard guy - with his lawnmower. Not sure how he did that...so this is the 3rd pair. Yes, plastic lawn decorations will fade and wear out over time, but we love these Don Featherstone flamingos.
One note: I ordered my on Amazon on Dec. 11th from acehardwareoutlet, and received them 11 days later. The outer box was fine, but the cardboard box package around the flamingos was in bad shape - it was wet on the front, the cardboard was torn and had mud - yes mud - on it! It looked as though someone had stepped on it with a muddy boot then packaged it. I had to use my hairdryer to dry it, and a cloth to clean the mud off before giving to my Mom for Christmas. I could not find any being sold by them at this time, so good luck with other Amazon sellers. |
