by Alexandra Vrugt This economy crisis is sparking a renewed interest in yard sales and garage sales. Most people are trying to get the maximum bang for their bucks and they know that they can usually find fantastic stuff at yard sales. They are great events that benefit everyone involved with the consumer being able to buy for cheap and the sale host earning what could be much needed additional income. Even though people put on yard sales every day, the fact remains that not every sale will be a cash cow.

The first part of July was very full of relatives here at the homestead, and my relatives run the gambit in ’size’ designations between morbidly obese and thin as rails. I’m a sort of in-between person. Weigh the same now (approaching my 40th anniversary next month) as I did the day I graduated from high school and the day I got married. Don’t tend to gain or lose and never have.

“ Vous avez dû attendre pendant longtemps ? ” (Did you have to wait for long?) my parents asked. We were standing at one end of terminal E in Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport, hugging and kissing. My parents were as eager to see us as we were to see them. But I knew that, in fact, they were even happier to greet and hold their little grand daughter. Lulu was snuggled cozily against my stomach in her ergo . We could only see the top of her head and hair and eyes which she had wide open.
