Not only do we get to harvest and use the herbs for medicine, but the act of growing them yields tremendous benefits in the form of exercise and connection to the earth. There is also the opportunity to help others by offering them herbal remedies for their ailments.

You can easily have a moderately large herb garden right in your own home. There are many different ways that you can create and grow an herb garden that fits your needs and the space that you have for the garden. One great way to grow an herb garden is to put it in your own kitchen. There are many different contraptions that include special lights to help you grow your own herbs in your kitchen.

I would like to start composting but I am so confussed!!! I found this container that you can set on your kitchen counter as you collect materials. Ok, easy enough and not too expensive. After that I have no clue. I saw where you can buy this tumble bin thing that you keep outdoors that stores and creates the compost, but the cost is more than I can handle. What are all of my options and how do I even start a conpost. My goal is to have a herb garden in my kitchen or on my front porch so I really don’t need to mass produce or anything.

The popularity of organic food and gardening has certainly increased over the last few years. Not only does it give you a sense of well being but people love the beauty of wonderful colored flowers and the taste of vegetables they helped create. Organic gardening tips on how to successfully start and care for an organic garden are becoming easier to find as this type of gardening continues to become more popular. Along with being relaxing, it is a very interesting hobby.

(Well, practically all; there’s also “No farms, no food.”) Saving money on food purchases and eating a healthy diet often seem to be mutually exclusive goals. But they’re not if you’re willing to reeducate yourself to eat as our ancestors did: seasonally. Eating seasonally means eating what’s ripe and abundant (and therefore cheap) in your area right now.
